This is truly a wonderful example of a vintage style Jaguar guitar. Jaguar fans will surely appreciate this guitar's perfect weight for a Jaguar - 3.9 kg / 8.6 lbs which is rarely found in a vintage solid body Jaguar guitar.
The body is made of a 2-piece flame Alder, it features nice and deep vintage contours and results in a perfect body to neck balance and resonant sound.
Hardware is Fender USA made for American Vintage reissue guitars. The pickups are Fender 1962 Jaguar pickups with alnico 2 magnets which gives a really deep, throaty and balanced sound. Wiring is original 1962 schematic with CTS 1M pots on main control plate. Switchcraft slide switches. Custom made tortoise 4 ply wide bevel pickguard.
The finish is a beautiful and very thin 3 tone sunburst nitro lacquer with a tasteful red layer which blends perfectly, unlike "target bursts" often seen in vintage guitars, and help accentuate the flamed Alder wood beneath. This thin finish really helps in achieving a woody and resonant sound this Jag has.
Please note that string mute system is not featured on this guitar, and the body and pickguard do not have mounting holes for a mute system.
Neck is made of rift sawn Maple with luthier top grade rosewood fingerboard with comfortable 9.5" radius and medium stainless steel frets. Hand shaped and polished unbleached bone nut. Gotoh Japan vintage style tuners. The neck shape is mild, rounded "V" at the first fret (22mm/0.86") which blends nicely into a full rounded "C" at the 12th fret (25.4mm/1"). Very comfortable and perfect for chord work on the first frets. Very similar to Fender Eric Johnson neck profile.
All the pickup positions are perfectly balanced and usable, from moderately bright bridge pickup to neck pickup in Rythm mode which has a great throaty texture, but is not muddy at all. Really feels like a 3 pickup guitar.
